damn, lorie...Mr Oden is far from a Sam Bowie. He is going to be just fine. He has top of line people working with him on his rehab, and a top of the line team to come to when he's ready. As long as he doesn't rush back, Oden is going to be the guy to really put us over the top cause we got a good team anyway!

I'm concerned that you have a sad look in your eyes, Greg. Don't let them grind you down. This team is playing great, but they won't get anywhere with out some serious work on the glass and an inside threat. The day is coming when you'll own the paint in rip city.

lorie, obviously your a fraud of a blazer fan. go hate on someone else. it wasn't injuries that plagued bowie, it was his lack of skills and athletic ability.

Jebus Lorie, enough with the Sam Bowie talk. It's been a long time, but I remember watching more than a few games with Bowie and they guy was softer than warm butter. Greg has a completely different body habitus and after watching Greg play several times last year for the Buckeyes I can assure you that he has ten times the athletic ability of Bowie.

Keep up the good work GO!

This injury will help Greg In the long run. He will be able to experience the action from the sidelines, watching and learning.

Imagine if Greg was in the current team NOW!! He the Blazers would be unstoppable. I read in a magazine that there is a small chance of him playing before the end of the season.

Fingers crossed. thanks.

Go easy on Lori. You obviously weren't paying attention to what she said because she meant that you drafted Sam Bowie thinking he was the franchise and he was not so maybe Odon might be the same bust Sam Bowie was. Wasn't Sam Bowie drafted over a guy named Michael Jordan. Yep I am sure that was the guy so Blazers fans no that they can be wrong in there talent evaluation. It is ok Lori the people with an IQ knew what you meant.

Its getting frustrating to hear the comparisons to Sam Bowie. They are two completely different people, but the biggest difference is the fact that Bowie gave in to the pressure to get started. Not to mention surgery wasn't the same back then and neither were the medical staff. Oden is Oden, he should only be compared to Oden. I will not guarantee he won't get injured again or that he'll be the most amazing center to ever live. But let the guy live as Greg Oden.
And to GO, your work ethic is amazing, if you keep it up there are bound to be great things in your future. Take care of that knee man.

In the long run I think this is the best thing that could have happened for Oden and the franchise. It allowed Oden to heal his wrist and other aliments he had been playing with from his OSU days. It allowed the Blazers to get a look at other players who wouldnt have gotten the minutes otherwise if Greg was healthy, therefore future player evaluations should be better (esp with Pritchard at the realm). It also allows Greg to get a year to get acclimated to the game, to the conditioning, to the travel and everything while aliveating the pressure that comes with being a 1st round pick. It's not that i was happy to see Greg go down with a knee injury, but what ive read about his work ethic, his attitude, and just knowing how far the medical field has advanced since the days of Bowie, i really think this is a blessing in disguise. Keep up the great work Greg. This year is great, next year will be even better

I'm not a Blazers fan but i'm gald the team is having sucess and not having a let down from Greg not playing this season.

U blazer fans don't have to worry cause Greg will be just fine as long as he does the proper work outs from his trainer and dosent over do it.

He will not be 100% next year cause micro-fractures take time to fully heal, 1.5-2 years to fully recover but given his age, size of microfracture, his atheletic ablity and medical technology he should be able to recover fully. People that say he's going to be the next sam bowie are just wrong.

I hope he's recovery goes well and he doesn't have setbacks cause alot times u over compensate and wear out the other knee and have to get it scoped, like alot of other microfracture patients.

Best of luck to Greg Oden and hope his rookie/comeback year goes well.

Greg,

You got the right attitude. I am glad you came to Portland. You fit well with this team and this city.

I am sure this year has sucked for you, but when things get going for you it won't matter.

People, please be polite to each other on this board. Everyone has their own opinion and thoughts about Blazer Team Members. There is no need to attack one another. I don't think Greg Oden would like this type of disension either.

Please give Greg positive reinforcement to keep him positive in his recovery and throughout this season. Go Blazers!

Hi Greg,
I have been watching your rehab videos and you are doing great! Keep up the good work! I am a season ticket holder and I watch you on the bench, cheering the team on.
I have my Greg Oden Jersey ready for next year! I can hardly wait for your return, but want you out there 100%. Portland Fans love you!
We can wait till 2008! Take your time and get well and see you in the Fall of 2008!

Happy New Year and God Bless!

Lori, I think part of the reason that people took so much offense to your initial comment is because Greg is obviously working very hard. It has to be tedious and boring (possibly even a bit depressing) to see your team playing and you're stuck in the gym.
Have you, by any chance, watched his highlight video?
Let's hold him up, cheer him on and jump on our seats when he runs out on the floor next season.

Btw, I have to give props to the fans as well. The fans are amazing this year! The Rose Garden is loud and energized. Thanks to the team & to the fans.
