Greg,
I am a 5th grade teacher in Oregon City. I was on the Max with you when you were on your way to the rally in pioneer courthouse square. My son had his picture taken with you on his cell phone. It made his summer. He is a huge fan and is 20. I would love to get a poster of you or any memorabilia to put up in my classroom. The kids really enjoy sports, and you. mlchandler@comcast.net

Greg, I have been a Blazers fan for over 30-years and I highly anticipate you joining this team on the court! After some of the past poor charactor player personnel decisions, I am for the first time in years excited about being a Blazers fan again. I think with the great charactor and core of young talent this team currently has assembled Portland fans are in afor a treat and will once again be proud!
I believe you contributions from the defensive end and presence in the paint will take this team to the next level; championship level!

Get well and make us proud!

Great to see you on at the games! I know how everyone is talking about you coming back next year and don't get me wrong you will dominate your amazing......But it's obvious that you have done more to this team already that a lot of people may not see.

You have lifted everyones hopes on the team it feels, they are playing so well. Your presence alone has drawn so much attention to Portland it's put pressure on everyone to step up the game and its working so well.

I hope you see that the blazers want you. They can play great basketball as we have seen in the last 3 games. Your coming onto a great team that you even on the bench have helped build.

Greg,

I am happy to hear that you have a blog. Gilbert Arenas' is good when he isn't making pre-game predictions (I'm putting up 65 on the Blazers tonight)...(try like 11 dude) Lebron's is whatever, but I think you've got the potential to really hit a home run. Anyway, do you watch The Office? You seem like someone who might like that show and I've been trying to organize a "NBA The Office Night", but there have been no takers. Take that back, my roommate is in! Oh, and the Blazers really should pick UO's Bryce Taylor in next year's draft. Go Ducks and Blazers.

Mr. Oden,
the Guys just pulled of a perfect homestand and Rip City is feeling a unfamilar winning buzz. It's all too bad that the rose garden isn't chanting your name yet, but in time I believe the NBA's finest will groan when they see the have the blazers coming up on their schedules. Keep working hard and we all can't wait to see you dominate the west and east bigs. echi_udeze@yahoo.com

Greg - Keep working out! Your weight will level out, as you said, and you will come back strong and fast! I would suggest to the Blazers to get a picture of you working out, showing how big you have gotten. That would get people excited and worked up. That would be really good publicity, showing that you are a hard worker and that you are going to come back strong!! Take care of yourself. We're excited to have you in Portland. You are going to have a great career here and the Fans will be very loyal to you if you keep working hard like you have been!

Greg,

I was born and raised in Oregon. I'm a long time Blazers fan. 2 months ago I moved to Columbus, OH to be with my girlfriend who graduates in a matter of days. Just to let you know, I've been wearing the Blazers #52 Oden jersey around Columbus any chance I get! Can't wait to see you on the court when I come home!

Greg,

I was raised here in the bay area, and I must admit that the warriors is my home team. But you what, the way you play this game is such a beauty to watch. For just limited clips on the wire, you showed what you can do on the court and to your team, which I believe is going nowhere without you. I can't wait to see you play here in Oakland. Good Luck!

Hi Greg,

I'm a senior at tualatin high, i've been meaning to contact you, i'm a really big fan of yours. I heard you got your tonsils out around the same time i did then you had your knee surgery on the same day i went into surgery for my kidney. Im going to the game on wednesday on the 19th, i'm going to be sitting on the base line about 10 feet away from the players wearing your jersey. I was wondering if it would be alright to get your autograph on my jersey.
I look forward to seeing you play next year! All gods blessings.

Hello Greg,

What a trip to post a blog, I'm anticipating your return around the end of the season in time for the playoff to begin. I'm not sure how it works with your injury, but apparently the recovery timeline is quite lengthy, however with all the high spririts these days, I hope your foot's getting warmed up faster like you can't wait to get back on the court Jammin' those rims, Godspeed Mr Oden, 'til then.

hey Greg, I grew up a celtics fan, but converted into a Blazers fan after living in Portland for six years. For me as a kid, Larry Bird was the man, and Bill Russell was the Godfather. I haven't been that excited about a player on my team until you were drafted. I loved watching you in college, and I can't wait to watch you next season. I hope you win as many championships with our Blazers as Bill Russell.

Greg,

You probably have not thought too much lately about what it will be like to step on that basketball court next year for the opening tip of the first regular season game in Portland. When that time comes for you to actually play a game that counts, There is really only one thing that basketball fans here look for...and that is to play hard. That is it. No more. They don't expect you to score 20 points per game, or block 3 shots every game, or avoid mental mistakes, or miss a defensive assignment, or pick up too many fouls. If you play HARD, Portland fans will love you. Yes, there will be some who are so caught up in this GAME of basketball, that they are overly critical of the team, but the VAST majority of fans will love your effort, and forgive everything else. It's true. The Bible says, "love covers a multitude of sins.". Well, in Portland, PURE EFFORT covers a multitude of sins. So, when you boil it all down, Thats the only thing you need to concern yourself with. If you play hard, all the other things will fall into place in time. It's true. REMEMBER, IT'S ONLY A GAME. So play hard, and have fun. And Portland fans will be satisfied. ReturningBlazeFan

Hey Greg-
I met a 60-year-old lady who had a reconstructive knee surgery done by the same surgeon who did yours. She was in my camera store in Hillsboro last night. She said that it had only been a few weeks and she was already able to stand on just one leg -- the one with the knee that had been reconstructed. This happened on the same night that the Blazers won their 10th straight, so I took it as a sign. If he can fix a 60-year-old lady's knee, then I think you're going to be just fine :D Rock on dude

I like the way you have performed so far. Being a public figure is demanding and you display aplomb were others might let the very human doubts and concerns leak through. It's all just a game and you are playing on a large stage. As I read your blog the insite I see is of a lot of mother hens, clucking and encouraging something we hold precious, our hopes and fantasies we have place on you. This is not your responcibility, but rather our desires transposed. So when we seem crazy it's because we are. It's all part of the slick sales job major league sports packages. You are the piece of bait dangled before us. The concept goes back to Roman times when the blood sport of the gladiators was used to distract the masses from being concerned with local politics. It didn't always work out so well for the gladiators, but these days you have multimillion dollar contracts. This should apease the discomfort of having to watch others get the adulations you deserve while you are injured.

The sportwriters have one less cliche to use on you next year.

Nobody's going to write how you are "taking a young team on your shoulders".

Merry Christmas.
And a happy, restful, sunshiney New Year!

Did McLovin chew up all your stuff yet? I saw you on TV yesterday, and you handled yourself well. The reporters usually ask dumb questions, so at least you got some practice in for that. I hope you realize that the grey skies start to clear up in April, but probably closer to May. It rains until the day after the Rose Parade, but then the sun shines a lot through September. Hang in there, Greg. Better times are on their way.
